WSA players on a long journey

Excellent results were attained by the international training group from the Werner Schlager Academy so far in the Team Event of the 2011 European Championships in Gdansk.

Men's Team Austria (Werner Schlager, Robert Gardos, Daniel Habesohn, Stefan Fegerl), by defeating Romania (3-1), France (3-1), and Greece (3-1) in group play, advanced to the quarterfinal round.

Another member of the training team, Joao Monteiro, attained exceptional results for Portugal's team, which also made the top eight single elimination round.

A recent player who trained for several weeks at the WSA in Schwechat – Mihai Bobocica – helped Italy to make an advancement.

Romania's brilliant ladies team prepared at the WSA for the European Championships.  Elisabeth Samara, Bernadette Szocs and Daniela Dodean (SVS STRÖCK, living in Schwechat) succeeded in reaching the quarterfinals.  In particular, Romania overcame the tough German team, with Daniela defeating Germany's superstar Wu Jiaduo though she was down three match points!
