Samsonov and Ovtcharov in the WSA



There is expected high attendance at the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat in early January.


The Fakel Gazprom Orenburg star ensemble from Russia and, without a doubt, in this season a first rate candidate for the Men's European Champions League are coming to the WSA in Schwechat to prepare for the League's quarter-final match in Pontoise (France) on January 13th.


So, the curtain please for:


Vladimir Samsonov of Belarus exceptional player, Vice World Champion in 1999 and several times European Champion.


Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Germany's number two behind Timo Boll, number ten in the world, Olympic silver medalist in the team event in Beijing in 2008 and several times European team champion.


Plus Alexei Smirnov and Fedor Kuzmin – top Russian team players, both highly decorated and already for almost a decade, highly ranked European players.


Specifically, Mr. Samsonov and his colleagues will pitch their tent at the WSA between 8 January and 12 January, working hard together with SVS Niederösterreich (Werner Schlager, Chen Weixing, Daniel Habesohn, Stefan Fegerl) and the rest of the aces in the WSA international training group to structure their form for the match in Pontoise.


During this same time, preparation is continuing for the WSA-partner association SVS STRÖCK.

On the Austria women's championship team preparing for the Champions League semi-final match againist Linz AG Froschberg on 13 January will be China Team World Champion Fan Ying, Europe's superstar Daniela Dodean and individual Austrian national champion Li Qiangbing.


In this week, once more the WSA door handle is given to the great table tennis stars on the scene.
