The 84th Austrian Championships last weekend in Dornbirn brought some surprises, and once again proved that as well on national level the Werner Schlager Academy is the measure of all things.

With 12 medals in five competitions, the WSA-athletes demonstrated once more their supremacy. However, there were also some surprises, such as the 4:1 victory of great playing Martin Heimberger against the Hungarian Open champion and world number 61 Daniel Habesohn .

The recently 23 years old Heimberger then had to admit defeat in the semifinals against the younger brother, Dominik Habesohn with 1:4.

The second half of the draw was dominated by Stefan Fegerl who beat his national team colleague and defense specialist Chen Weixing and thus stood in the final. In the decisive heat Stefan Fegerl once again was playing in his currently strong form and defeated Dominik Habesohn with a clear 4-0.

So in the men's individual all podium places were taken by the Werner Schlager Academy.

After maternity leave Li Qiangbing is back again and was able to win bronze in women's singles.

Similar to the singles was the situation in men's doubles, where Dominique Plattner was able to defeat at the side of Martin Storf Dominik Habesohn and Martin Heimberger in the final. Third place also went to players training at the WSA: Tarek Al Samhoury with David Serdaroglu .

Dominique Plattner also gained precious metal for the WSA in the Mixed competition: Together with Amelie Solja he won the final 3-0 against Liu / Presslmayer.

The young parents Qiangbing Li and Stefan Fegerl finished third.
A great success in women's doubles is the third place of Karoline Mischek .

Warmest congratulations of the Werner Schlager Academy to all medalists.
