Bravo SVS STRÖCK

10.02.2013

The chance for SVS STRÖCK to continue the unbraked skyrocketing of the last two and half years was not given already before the Champions League semifinal against Linz AG Froschberg.

With Daniela Dodean (severe knee surgery) and Li Qiangbing (risk pregnancy) the Austrian Womens Champion, who had remained unbeaten in the Champions League preliminary round, missed its number one and number two.
It was clear that against world-class players like Liu Jia, Iveta Vacenovska and Petrissa Solja there would be no chance of advancement for the young wild squad from SVS STRÖCK.

But Yuki Nonaka and the Austrian junior team players Nicole Galitschitsch and Valerie Tischler withdrew against the - under the current conditions - superior opponent more than worthy from the affair. And rendered in this form never ever expectable resistance.

At the thin 2:3 in the return match in Schwechat especially the young Japanese Yuki Nonaka showed with two wins (including against Germany's player of the year Petrissa Solja / 3:0) great table tennis.

In the season 2012/2013 SVS STRÖCK therefore has to live with the "shame" of being "only" the number three in Europe. Last major goal for the young squad now remains reaching the final in the national championship.

2013/2014 SVS STRÖCK will start again by fully refreshing the team and coming back among Europe's top clubs. After the encouraging performance of the team in the "mission impossible" in the CL semi-final against Linz we have seen (at full scenery in the WSA Hall), that the spirit in the team is alright and therefore the chosen path should be continued.
